During May 1999 I rode from Half Moon Bay, California to my front door in Southern California. Sonja, Marcus and Dianne joined me. Sonja and I rode on single bikes, while Marcus and Dianne took advantage of the steep downhill sections on their tandem. We completed the 500 plus mile ride in 8 days. The California coast is beautiful and provided spectacular views everyday. We carried our own gear in panniers and stayed in hotels as we made our way down Hwy1.
